If the electric revolution wasn’t bewildering enough already the number of previously unheard of brands leading the charge can have your head spinning. While many of these are out of China we’ve also seen several new American names pop up, the likes of Rivian, Lucid and now Fisker all keen to ‘do a Tesla’ and bring some Californian tech inspired blue sky thinking to the electric car market.
For those who’ve driven it the Fisker Ocean has already impressed for its styling, tech, massive range and eye-catchingly affordable price. But the brand has bigger ambitions, and has shared three additional models it hopes to bring to Europe in the not too distant future. Let’s take a look.

Who is Fisker?

Fisker the car brand is the latest venture of Henrik Fisker the man, a Danish-born, American based car designer and long-standing industry figure with spells at mainstream brands like BMW and Aston Martin before going it alone with his own company. In a previous guise that built the Karma, a sleek and luxurious high-performance plug-in hybrid that turned heads for a period but never quite delivered on the promise. In its latest form Fisker is now an all-electric brand, riffing on its boss’s dedication to style and luxury while keeping its feet on the ground with a commendable (and very Californian) focus on tech-driven eco awareness, bang for buck performance and affordability. All embodied in its first car, the Ocean electric SUV. But that’s just the start. Here, in more detail, are the three cars due to join it in the Fisker line-up.

Fisker Ronin

Given Henrik Fisker’s previous work this looks very much his comfort zone, the Ronin channelling the vibe of his previous work like the Aston Martin DB9 and the Karma into a sleek, fully electric five-seat GT with a folding roof and a promised 1000 horsepower-plus power output. So far, so predictable in the world of electrified concept cars, promises of more than 600 miles of range, Tesla-baiting acceleration times, a limited production run of 999 cars and a price not far off £400,000 all to be expected. That many of those numbers are caveated by phrases like ‘projected’ and ‘targeted’ may have you wondering if it’s fantasy or reality but Fisker is already taking deposits and promises cars in 2025.

Fisker PEAR

If the Ronin is up in the air the PEAR, like the Ocean you can already buy, seems to have its feet more firmly on the ground. And by buying in tech like batteries, outsourcing production to respected European firms and only selling cars direct Fisker’s more mainstream products have turned heads for pricetags that look more Chinese than Californian. Indeed, Fisker is already talking about a starting price of a little over £30,000 with the smaller of the two battery options, which has a range of nearly 200 miles. Which is enough for most regular driving, but if you want to go further you can have a bigger battery with nearly 350 miles of range. Simplified engineering meanwhile aims to reduce cost and complexity, but Fisker’s love of quirky branded features like the ‘Houdini Trunk’ tailgate and ‘Froot’ (or ‘front boot’) are all apparently designed with European drivers in mind. Oh, and if you were wondering what PEAR stands for it apparently means Personal Electric Automotive Revolution.

Fisker Alaska

A burly looking electric pick-up truck, the Alaska looks very much designed to American tastes and as a rival to Stateside products like the new Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, Hummer EV and much delayed Tesla Cybertruck. But where these very much play to the macho stereotypes the Alaska seems to have a slightly more right-on vibe, claiming to be the lightest and most sustainable EV pick-up with a starting price of just under £50,000. Based on the Ocean, it will also come with two battery options (one with 230 miles of range, the other with 340) and has some neat features like an extending load bed to adapt to the lifestyle load carrying jobs of your choosing.
